Halicia {aka Hallie} has been teaching barre for 5 years and began her journey of being an instructor after only taking one class! She is MULTI-passionate and you can also find her on camera as a host, DJing private events, creating fun content online or just roller-blading by the beach. Hallie is a firm believer in work hard, PLAY hard and you’ll find out exactly what she means when you take her class.

Amanda {affectionately known as Moo} was classically trained in ballet for years growing up and as an adult was so happy to find barre. She took her first barre class in 2008 and a few weeks later was training to be a barre{tender}. You’ll usually spot her at the studio with the best crew around and the most incredible clients ever, but on the weekends you’ll most likely hear her and her husband, Billy, cheering on their two daughters in either soccer or lacrosse. Fun fact…Moo met her husband while she was driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Yup, she showed him her 27-foot wiener and it was love at first sight! You’ll have to get the details from her. Haha!

Danica grew up in Seattle, went thousands of miles away for college in New Orleans and her first accounting job in New York City, but she eventually joined her identical twin sister, Toria, in San Diego {those twin bonds are real!}. Danica spent years being a loyal client and convincing friends to take class with her at Studio Barre Bird Rock, but when the opportunity presented itself, she just couldn’t resist joining the crew herself. While she loves the SBBR family a whole heck of a lot, kittens/puppies and chicken tenders make a close second and third!

Midwest girl at heart, but got a taste of the California sunshine in 2015 and hasn’t looked back. Outside of barre she loves a good beach day, playing pickup soccer games, and {most importantly} her fur-baby…Rufus!

Lizzie has lived in San Diego for almost 10 years now and is soaking up every bit of it. When she’s not at the barre, she’s a professional dancer for BrickHouse Dance Productions and Legoland California. You can also catch her in the bay crewing on a catamaran or slinging t-shirts at a Padres game!

Brigitte, her hubby Clinton, and their puppy posse have crossed the country calling a few places home, but landed in San Diego back in 2017. Brigitte is currently studying physical therapy at SDSU and combining that with her previous professional dance career it’s no wonder she finds joy in teaching barre which she has been doing for 10+ years! When you don’t see her smiling {or groaning} at barre, you might just catch her at Catania serving delicious food or the PT clinic getting hands on experience for post graduation! One thing is for sure…SBBR holds her favorite humans!

Concetta moved to San Diego from the Bay Area to attend college at University of San Diego 4 years ago. During that time, she found Studio Barre Bird Rock and has been obsessed ever since. Her favorite thing to do post-barre is grab an iced latte with oat milk and a croissant from Wayfarer pastry down the street and take a walk in Bird Rock! When she’s not at barre, she is studying to become a nurse or hanging out with her golden retriever fur baby Bear!

Cassie grew up in the hot sun of Palm Springs, CA, and brought her sunshine-y personality all the way down to San Diego! She recently graduated from UCSD and is getting ready for medical school {paging future Dr. Cassie}! Outside of barre, medical assisting, and her hospital internship, Cassie loves to dance and you’ll most likely get to see that dance moves on display during her barre classes!

Kellie first taught at Studio Barre Bird Rock back in 2019, and after a quick stint away in Texas, it was time to come back to California and her second home, Studio Barre! She’s a diehard Texas girl, the best bulldog momma around, and the freest of free spirits! In her spare time she likes to play auntie to her niece and nephew and watch the sunset in her favorite hideaway. Oh and she does that big girl job too as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, but honestly she’d rather be squeezing your tushy!

Ashley was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ {yes she’s a Zonie, but we still love her}. She moved to San Diego 4 years ago and within weeks found a second home at Studio Barre. Two fun facts about Ashley is she was a contestant on the Price is Right and won a trampoline {ha!} and lived on a cruise ship for 4 months during a college study program!

Emily is originally from STL, {and yes, she loves Nelly as much as you’d think} but has lived in San Diego for almost 8 years! When she’s not at the studio, she works full time as a Program Manager at Aya Healthcare. In my free time she spends lots of time with her fiancé Josh, their 2 pups, Oscar and Finn and of course, as much beach time as sh can!

McKenzie was born and raised in San Diego, but went to Ole Miss for college where she met her fiancé Sam. She is loving living back in San Diego with her family and friends! She is a full-time nutritionist who loves roaming the aisles of Whole Foods finding new and innovative food products. When she’s not at the beach or working, she is either at a wedding or spending her time convincing Sam to get them a dog.

Beatrice {affectionately called Bea} barre hopped around San Diego and found where she belonged in 2020….Studio Barre Bird Rock. When she’s not behind the desk doing her barre{ista} gig, she’s probably taking class, babysitting the cutest kids or hanging with the craziest pup ever, Lola!

Hailing from North Dakota then a small stint in Canada, Whitney finally found sunny San Diego in 2016 and is never leaving! She’s a true nerdy accountant by day, but bleeds Studio Barre yellow and grey and spends most of her free time at the studio. If she’s not at the studio she’s probably golfing with her love, Remy or cuddling with her pup Goldie. But who are we kidding she brings them to barre too!

SBBR has been Mer’s “happy place” since inception- starting as a client, then Barre{ista} and finally a Barre{tender} since 2015. In addition to teaching barre, Mer’s also a full-time Real Estate agent and mom of two. Outside of the studio Mer and her family love to spend time at the beach together.

As a former D1 Athlete and cheerleader, Megan is a Studio Barre regular because each class kicks her a$$ and she is super musically driven. Her goal is for each person to leave her class feeling strong, proud, and motivated to go even harder in the next class. When Meg is off barre duty, she spends every free minute with her husband and two kiddos.

Emiley was born in ventura county and moved down to san diego almost a year ago.

What she loves about barre:
“I love barre because it makes me and our clients feel confident in themselves and with the way their body looks! every woman deserves to feel beautiful in their own skin and i’m so lucky to be able to see these women (and sometimes men) be happy with the way they look and feel!”

Emiley’s favorite barre position:
“My favorite barre position is definitely back dancing. i love it not only because it means that i’m almost done with class, but it really works everything. especially when the lights go off i can really push myself to finish.”

Emiley’s favorite non-barre activity:
“when i’m not at barre i like to dance, swim/surf in the ocean, box, travel, go to concerts and hangout with my friends.”

More fun facts about emiley:
“I can speak spanish. i’ve been pooped on by a bird nearly every time i go to the beach, its really fun.”

One of our newest members to join the family, natalie’s energy is infectious! she is an extremely hard worker, a very good listener to all of our clients, and very social. she has been such an amazing addition to the team. what have we done without her!

Is from the bay area and is a san diego state alumni.

Her former dance experience with a focus on contemporary, lyrical and jazz lead her to kickboxing and fitness since 2003.

Halicia loves blasting the music to a perfect level that creates a motivational atmosphere for her clients that allows them to have fun while putting in the hard work.her favorite thing about barre is it’s unique way of focusing on isolation moves on the body that brings you to a place of pushing past the inevitable barre “shake”.

If she’s not teaching barre or kickboxing you’ll see her on the baseball field as a coordinator with the padres or even on weekends as the mc/dj at a wedding or private event!

As much as you’ll see her running around using all her fun talents, when she’s home she’s either writing or working on her marketing business.

As you can she, she is our barre-tender who wears many hats.

After seeing her day in and day out as a client, never having anything less than perfect form, we had to have her a part of the team. lex is well known throughout bird rock, also managing the local watering hole beaumont’s. she’s loud, she’s commanding, and she brings the heat! you will never work harder on a final ten!

Brigitte grew up dancing in florida and found her love of teaching barre in new york city, bringing barre classes to a small town in colorado before finding her studio barre family. for brigitte, the best part of barre is that it’s a safe and effective workout for every body that can always be more challenging no matter how long you have been a client. when not in the studio you can find brigitte taking modern dance classes, hanging out with her husband and three puppers at ob dog beach, or working at bird rock staple beaumont’s.

Born and raised in San Diego, Emily is completing her graduate education at San Diego State University for a Master’s degree in Accounting, with a specialization in Accounting Information Systems. Having worked in corporate finance for several years, she was asked by the university to teach the Accounting Fundamentals course. When she’s not at the office, school, or studio, you’ll find her exploring the city with a camera around her neck and dog leash in hand.

She is in love with how barre creates long, lean muscles with every “bend-and-stretch” to achieve the ultimate toned, yet feminine, physique. Her favorite part of class is back-dancing because it hurts so good in all of the right places! Back-dancing also means class is over and she can go down the street to eat fish tacos.

Being the studio’s first, and thus longest-standing client, she has stayed around for so many years because she continues to learn from and be inspired by all of the ladies. The studio is full of positive energy, unending support, and tons of hot buns!

I was born and raised in san diego, and currently pursuing a degree in nursing. i love going to the beach, traveling, and cooking!

I love barre because it is the first effective exercise i have tried that gives me the results i want without having to run miles. it is challenging, but upbeat and fun! you leave feeling good about what you’ve accomplished.

My favorite part of studio barre is the thighs segment because it hurts so good! you know its working when that shake sets in!

Another jersey turned socal girl, susie’s life is fitness. our resident yogi, susie brings both energy and poise to the barre, trying to bring a very personable experience to every client she meets. her laugh is infectious and she’ll definitely bring the shake.

Megan is an sbbr favorite! her energy is targeted, infectious, and leaves clients having given their best. she knows the importance of using her voice, the music, and touch to create an amazing hour.

I grew up in michigan dancing and riding horse competitively and moved to southern california after graduating from veterinary school at michigan state university. i am passionate about improving the lives of my patients through traditional and integrative medicine.

I became a barre addict after my very first class! i love barre because it helps me feel strong and healthy. one hour at the barre is the most efficient way to tone your entire body while also improving flexibility and having fun! my favorite things about barre, besides the amazing workout and unparalleled results, is being part of the studio barre community! everyone at studio barre is welcoming, motivating, and supportive and we are passionate about giving our clients the best experience to help them reach their goals.

Meridith was born and raised on the beach in cape cod, ma. having grown up by the ocean in her local dance studio, meridith naturally gravitated towards studio barre bird rock. she fell in love with the workout and has been with us since january 2015.

She loves how each class continues to challenge her, makes her feel stronger and is set to awesome music which motivates her to crack a smile and continue working through the shakes.

Meridith’s favorite part of teaching at studio barre bird rock is the community. she loves sharing what she’s learned with her clients to give them the best workout with the most effective results creating a lean and toned figure.

Outside of studio barre meridith is our neighborhood real estate agent. with care and precision she is able to achieve the absolute best for her clients inside and outside the studio.

Lindsay was born and raised in new jersey, and attended college at georgetown university to study nursing. she has her phd in the field, with her dissertation focus on using meditative practices to improve sleep, specifically in the veteran population. aside from barretending, she works at thornton hospital and teaches nursing students at cal state san marcos.

Lindsay found her love of barre at studio barre la costa over four years ago. it is absolutely her favorite workout ever. the core strength she has found through classes has improved her surfing and long distance paddling out in the ocean. she also found barre to be the key success in pregnancy, and getting back to her best shape ever after having her son, dax!!

Her favorite part{s} of barre are sphinx, waterski, pretzel, pretzel, and pretzel. but the most awesome part is the community, and getting your booty kicked with your friends!!

The best part of teaching barre is… everything!! getting people motivated, hearing those moans {of joy} and knowing everyone is leaving with a sore seat.. i mean, that’s the point right??

Jennifer is originally from new jersey. she attended american university in washington d.c. where she studied finance and marketing. co-owner and lead barretender at studio barre bird rock.

Jennifer is a three-time ironman triathlete as well as ultra-marathon long distance runner having finished such races as leadville 50 miler, sean o’brien 50 miler, and zion 100 miler. jennifer believes barre is what enables her body to pursue her love of endurance sports.

She personally has seen barre completely transform her body and loves/hates anything wide second!

She also loves being the best hour of people’s day. allowing clients to come in and turn off the outside world and take an hour just to themselves. she enjoys helping her clients see the same change in their bodies so they can not only look great, but feel great too!!
